Pasta with basic Tomato Sauce |

Ingredients:- 500g penne pasta or pasta of your choice
Tomato Sauce:- 2 x 400g cans whole tomatoes, chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- Pinch dried chillies
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- Salt & black pepper
- Pinch sugar
- 125ml white wine (optional)
- Handful fresh basil leaves (optional)
- Oil

Method:- Fry onion and garlic in oil and cook until onion is softened.
- Add tomatoes and season with salt and pepper.
- Add chillies and sugar.
- Pour in wine (optional) and simmer until sauce has thickened slightly (about 20 minutes).
- Cook pasta as per packet instructions, drain and add to sauce to coat.
- Sprinkle with basil leaves before serving.
