Here are the basics you should always have at hand:
Canned Foods:
- Baked beans
- Soup
- Pulses – chickpeas, kidney beans, lentils, etc.
- Fish – pilchards, sardines, tuna, etc.
- Corned beef
- Sweetcorn
- Tomatoes
- Tomato puree/paste
Bottles & Jars:
- Mayonnaise
- Vinegar
- Olive or vegetable oil
- Tomato sauce (ketchup)
- Long-life milk
Fridge:
- Milk
- Eggs
- Cheese
- Carrots
- Potatoes
- Onions
- Garlic
Dried Goods:
- Dried pulses – lentils, beans, etc.
- Pasta
- Flour
- Rice
- Porridge or maize meal
- Pap
- Sugar
Herbs & Spices:
Freezer:
- Fish fingers
- Oven chips
- Mixed vegetables or stir fry vegetables
- Chicken portions
- Minced pork or beef
- Burgers
- Pizza bases
