The Darling Trust is an organisation that was set up to help the previously disadvantaged communities of Darling. They help empower members of the community by motivating, educating, and providing them with the skills they need to cope with everyday challenges such as poverty, crime, drugs and HIV/Aids. The organisation was founded by Pieter Dirk Uys (Evita Bezuidenhout) who takes his AIDS-awareness presentation, ‘For Facts Sake’, to schools throughout South Africa free of charge. Lewis Stores was proud to donate R2 500 towards the Early Childhood Development Centre of the Darling Trust.
