Keep Your Family Happy And Healthy

It’s common knowledge that adopting healthy habits in a healthy lifestyle for you and your family will not only ensure all-round happiness, but also promote a happy, loving home. Try these tips for keeping your family happy and healthy.

1. Improve Your Diet
The whole family will benefit if you start paying more attention to the kind of food you serve. Fast food is a disaster, especially in young children, who are still developing and need as healthy a diet as possible. Improve your diet by eating together as a family – experts say it improves everyone’s lifestyle and keeps you all up-to-date with one another’s lives.

Try This:
• Eliminate unhealthy foods from your household rather than just not letting your child eat them. Teach by example.
• Keep healthy snacks in a place where your child can easily get to them.

2. Turn Off The TV… And Video Games And Computer!
Did you know that children over the age of two shouldn't watch more than one to two hours of TV a day? It might be an easy way to keep them entertained while you’re busy with your own chores but it’s not necessarily the right thing to do.

Try This:
• Treat TV as a privilege that your child needs to earn – not a right to which he or she is entitled. Tell your child that TV-viewing is allowed only after chores and homework are completed.
• Offer fun alternatives to television. Suggest playing a boardgame, start a game of hide and seek, play outside, read, work on crafts or hobbies, or listen and dance to music.

3. Throw Out Clutter
Keeping your home clean, organised and welcoming to guests will promote a natural sense of well-being (and tidiness!) within your family. And once they know where to find stuff (and where to return them) your home will have much less chaos and clutter – and everyone will be happy!

Try This:
• Make a list of all the tasks that need to be done. No task is too small.
• Ask your family members to each take on one task. If they do help, thank them. Make it fun, and it will get done!

These healthy habits are not difficult to do and incorporating them into your daily lives will ensure your family stays happy and healthy.
