Bread and butter pudding

We love this yummy dessert and it's very simple so the kids can help you make it.

12 slices of white bread, crusts removed
125ml soft butter
2 cups berries of your choice

For the custard:
2 cups of milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 jumbo eggs
Icing sugar for dusting

1. Preheat oven to 160°C. Butter bread and cut in quarters (triangles).
2. Layer slices in a medium-sized ovenproof dish or for individual ramekins.
3. Scatter some of the berries on the puddings.
4. Mix all the ingredients for the custard and pour over the bread. Allow the puddings to stand for about 10 minutes before baking.
5. Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
