Packing a picnic


Picnics are a summer favourite, combining good food, great weather and fun family time. Grab your friends and family and organise a game of soccer in a local park, then choose some of your favourite Club recipes and pack a delicious summer picnic to enjoy after the game.

Your picnic packing list:
Picnic blanket
Eating utensils – knives, forks, spoons, plates, cups, bowls and serving spoons
Sharp knife
Salt and pepper
Plastic cutting mat
Condiments – tomato sauce, mayonnaise, mustard
Rubbish bag
Serviettes

Some of our favourite picnic recipes are:
Avo dip with corn chips
Ham and cheese baguettes
Pita breads with chicken and tzatziki (see below)
Chocolate chip cookies
Fruit skewers

Cut up some delicious summer fruit and skewer on a
kebab stick – they'll be a hit with the kids.


Tzatziki dip

Ingredients:

1
¼ cups Greek yoghurt
½ cucumber, finely chopped (about one cup)
2-3 tbsp chopped chives
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tbsp lemon juice
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Method:
Using a fine strainer over a bowl, strain the yoghurt overnight in the fridge. When strained, mix the thick yoghurt with the remaining dip ingredients and chill.
